Leopard sculpture, unique, life-size garden sculpture. Handmade from recycled wire by Zenzele artist Mwazha. Size: 93 x 58 x 20 cm Mwazha is originally from Harare in Zimbabwe, he started to making wire art at the age of 7, making toys for himself and his friends. In 1998 Mwazha moved to South Africa, first selling his work on the side of the streets, but soon became known in the art world for his wire portrait sculptures of Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali. Mwazha worked for many years as the lead artist of the famous social organization Streetwires. He has done many commissions and exhibitions throughout South Africa, winning several awards. . Including first prize at the Democracy X exhibition (2004), the Brett Kebble art awards, AMS Give Them Wings exhibition and the 9th Cape Town Design Indaba (2006). His work includes human portraits and animals, sometimes larger than life, from chicken wire and from the random wire technic that he pioneered, using recycled industrial wires, chaotically twisted into perfectly forms.
