Masai head sculpture, made from recycled flip flops in Tanzania. Size: 27 x 18 x 18 cm Nearly 90 tons of flip flops are washed up onto the beaches of Tanzania every year. A beach cleaning project collect them, clean them and glue them together into blocks. Then traditional sculptors, hand-carve the flip flop blocks into beautiful sculptures. Zenzele works directly with this inspired recycle project, that makes high quality modern art and has found an creative uses for this toxic waste material.
